Medical History Taking

I think that by this time, I am now good in taking medical histories from the patients. I attribute this to the following factors:

1. I am part of Group I in Medicine. What's with group I? Well, we are under the preceptorship of Dr. A. He was very strict when it comes to history taking, and he checks our written reports to the most minute detail. I and my groupmates actually receive our written histories back with so many red marks! Not only that, Dr. A. was the one who made the database we use in our patient interviews. :)

2. We do history taking weekly. Sometimes, we do it on weekends, especially if we find out that we still lack pertinent info from our patients.

3. I actually memorized what's in the history database! Even I, myself could not believe that I did that. You have to know though that the memorization part was not intentional. I believe I memorized the content because we go through the database weekly, and oftentimes, around three to four times a week!

Ok... So much for these factors. But, what am I talking about in the first place? What's the database? What's history taking?

Ewan. Pagod na ako.
