What to do on Christmas

Hello everyone! I may not be able to text and greet each one of you on Christmas day.

So....

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!

Remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.

"For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son that WHOSOEVER believes in Him shall not perish but shall not have eternal life"
JOHN 3:16

Just like all of you, I also want to go to heaven when I die. I want to spend eternity in a place where there are no worries, problems, and fear... a place where everything is lavished extravagantly... a place where I will be forever with God.

Yet, there is something that hinders each man to go to heaven. And that is SIN. We are all born sinners and we cannot save ourselves from the punishment of God because we sin. No one can say he or she has never sinned. And that punishment is death... not an ordinary kind of death, but a death that is everlastingly painful... in hell.

But God loves us so much. In His initiative, He planned of a way so that it is possible for man to spend eternity with Him. He gave us JESUS... and that's the essence of the story of Christmas. Christmas is about a God who lovingly gave His only begotten Son in order for us to receive the GIFT of salvation.

When God says gift, we do not earn it. We even do not have to work for it. Just as this season of Christmas, when we TRULY give gifts, we give out of our own will, of our own motive. And that has nothing to do with who the receiver is. So God gave us the gift of Salvation and it is up to us whether we accept it or not. We are not saved by working for our salvation... by doing good works, by going to church or by praying.. no not those. We are saved because of the blood of Jesus shed on the cross, and that is what we call GRACE.

So how then can we enjoy that gift? How can we accept it? As I said, it is not by our OWN strength, good works, etc. It is by believing in our hearts (not just in our heads!) that God loves us, and that Jesus died for your sins already. That God has prepared a place for you in heaven when you die today. Of course, I don't mean that we do not do good works. Good works don't save. But good works will follow after being saved. Jesus is enough for our salvation.

So in this season of Christmas, let us take this opportunity to receive God's gift of salvation to us. Believe in your hearts that Jesus is your Saviour, and Lord. When we say Lord, we say Jesus is our master. We follow what He wants us to do, as said in the Bible. In every aspect of our life, let us turn away from the sins we routinely do, and ask God to help us change in order to please Him.

Merry Christmas everyone! Have a blessed time... =D
