A Song

I want to share with you something that I wrote last April 12, 2000 at Sibonga, Cebu. It is inspired by the passage found in Proverbs 18:24.

It could be a prose, lyrics of a song, or whatever. So here it is:


Here I am
Feeling like I'm all alone in this island
Don't want this to be forever
I need someone by my side

Here I am
Down the sidewalks of busy streets
Like the pace of time is rushing
Don't want this lonely feeling

And then it's God
(Who) with His arms of love He touched me
And all I could say is

O Jesus Love of my soul
O Jesus my King, my friend, my all
Don't want to take you for granted
For you never took me like that
And in times I needed you most
You never failed to show yourself
For there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother
